Day 9: New Orleans, Louisiana

NOLA Adventures

*Warning, my phone unfortunately died about 30 minutes after we arrived in the French Quarter so I wasn't able to take many pictures, and Rebecca has yet to give me hers so sorry for the lack of photos, you'll just have to use your imagination*

New Orleans was awesome!!! I am so happy we decided to go. (yes we almost didn't go). We stayed at this very posh campground. Yes you read that right, I said "posh campground", and why was it posh you might ask? Well because we couldn't walk on the grass. That was for sure a first for me. It was a really nice site, we had bathrooms, showers, laundry facilities, and even a pool (which we didn't have time to use). We did however use the dryer, because we forgot to put up the rain cover and all our stuff got soaked. Well just pillows and blankets cause we didn't put our bags in the tent. It wasn't bad though cause it was too hot to use the blankets anyways.

After we arrived like I said in the previous post we took the car in to get looked at, so after all that we finally made it to the French Quarter and the first thing we did was get bigness from the famous Café du Monde. They were to die for delicious and still warm! Rebecca got an iced coffee and I  got some water. I wish we could go back and get some more!

After the Café du Monde we walked around the city and shopped a bit. I got myself a black carnival mask! I am so excited for it (don't worry it's just for decorating my room with). We got a Po'boy sandwich from a shop downtown and it was okay. Not the best thing in the world, but I'm glad I tried it. We also walked Bourbon street, which was very weird... pretty much just a bunch of weird people, dressed differently and acting interesting. That's the best description for now LOL.

So below are the pictures that I was able to snap before my phone died.

We had a great time in NOLA, and even got to see a comedy show (for free)! We were just wandering the streets and someone gave us some tickets for the show. It featured 10 comedians. Half of them were awesome and the other half I wouldn't care to see again. We left today for the unclaimed baggage area in Arkansas and I am sad that we didn't have more time in NOLA. I would definitely love to eventually return. It reminded me of cities in Europe, and it makes me miss my friends over there. Well enough about that. Tomorrow we get to see our Great Uncle TOM!! I am so excited!!:)

Keep us in your prayers!

Cheers,

Gabriella
